PSTN access numbers
PSTN access numbers are old-fashioned phone numbers that people can dial to reach VoIP phones. Typically the caller would dial an access number from a regular phone, then dial an "extension" (actually, the VoIP telephone number). Note: Neither the caller nor the callee needs to use SIP Broker.
Here's the current list of PSTN access numbers that work with SIP Broker:
- From any Australian PSTN phone, call 1300-558592 (a local-rate call from anywhere in Australia, except from some mobile phones). When prompted, dial 393**275-SIPCODE-NUMBER (for example, 393**275*266-301 for Blueface's echo test or 393**275-1-604-484-5289 for BC Wireless' autoattendant). This DID disconnects you after 60 minutes, but you can call right back. Discussion
- From any USA/Canada PSTN phone, call 1-360-526-0602 (located near Seattle). When prompted, dial SIPCODE-NUMBER (for example, *266-301 for Blueface's echo test or 1-604-484-5289 for BC Wireless' autoattendant). (Note: It might be necessary to hold down each key for about half a second so that the tones will be recognized accurately.)
Note: ENUM (*013) is the default
SIPCODE. In the above examples, you could dial 1-604-484-5289 or *013-1-604-484-5289 with the same results.
